Brain-child of audiovisual artists Addictive TV, the next Optronica, presented as part of the PlayStation Season, will take place from 14th - 18th March 2007, once again bringing visual music to the big screen.
Confirmed perfromances at the BFI IMAX - the biggest screen in Europe - are World premières of brand new shows from ground-breaking artists FRED DEAKIN (of LEMON JELLY and design group AIRSIDE), prolific graphic designer and musician TREVOR JACKSON, and - produced by FORMA - a special one-off collaboration between Austrian electronic music pioneer CHRISTIAN FENNESZ and famed New York video artist CHARLES ATLAS and on Friday 16th a double-bill of ADDICTIVE TV remixing classics of World Cinema followed by the UK premiere of renowned director PETER GREENAWAY’s Tulse Luper VJ performance, produced by NoTV.
At BFI Southbank, headlining Optronica Lab, we premiere in the UK the brand new show from German audiovisual act RECHENZENTRUM. We also welcome for the first time in the UK acclaimed Japanese audiovisual artist RYOICHI KUROKAWA with his solo show; the highly innovative Spanish group REACTABLE who recently stunned audiences at Sonar. Plus new shows from leading British audiovisual acts SEMICONDUCTOR, VITASCOPE and ULTRE + FLAT E.
London’s ICA hosts an audiovisual club night on Saturday 17th headlined by Dutch/U.S. audio/video collaborators SPEEDY J & SCOTT PAGANO, plus EXCEEDA, VJ ANYONE & DJ MOTORBOY + SPECIAL GUESTS…
Presented as part of the Playstation season, Optronica is organised by new-media curators Cinefeel
and artists/producers Addictive TV in partnership with the British Film Institute.
