AVmotional – up:date

up:DATE is a creative collaborative project by HONF (ID), AVmotional Platform (RO) and son:DA KIBLA (SL). It focuses on knowledge and culture sharing and is developed for and with youth, students, researchers and community among Indonesia and Europe. The project is built around series of creative technology presentations, workshops, discussions and public events, concentrated on working in New Media art.

up:DATE Bucharest or AVm Focus on Indonesia is the first of AVmotional’s Platform events for 2009. Together with the National Centre for Dance we’ll create for 2 days an audio-visual playground. The Indoensian group of artists representing the House of Natural Fiber will make presentations about their artistic and social activity in Yogyakarta, will perform an AV performance live and get in touch with the local art/music community for future collaborations.

> Circle of Satan: a presentation describing the situation and condition of new media art in Indonesia. Past, present, future and impact on the society in indonesia.

> Education focus program (EFP)
EFP is a program initiated by HONF in forms of interdisciplinary workshop, presentation and discussion. It is developed responding educational situations and conditions in developing country (Indonesia). Several programs from EFP: cellskid (workshops for children), vj school (workshops on vj culture, experimental visual), breakcore_labs (breakcore music scene and platform)

> Open discussion session and exchange that could lead to discussion on new media scene, graphic design, music scene, etc.

House of Natural Fiber [HONF] from Yogyakarta, Indonesia is a New Media Art laboratory, founded in 1999. They concentrate on the principles of social critique and art&technology innovation. Since the beginning, the House of Natural Fiber has consistently focused on cultural development and New Media art, running numerous projects and workshops in which they have concentrated on interactivity with people and environments. The two festivals Cellsbutton – Yogyakarta International Media Art Festival and YIVF – Yogyakarta International Videowork Festival, are some of their annual projects.
